Question 'delete prior' problems & email disappearing

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
I have an 8820.
Problem 1
I can not seem to 'delete prior' any emails. My inbox now dates back to last year and I am worried that this has taken up too much memory and may have been the cause of me losing all the email from one of the accounts on my device (which I read on this forum could be a possibility). I choose a date (usually the oldest 5 days) and tell it to 'delete prior', I confirm I want to delete prior, it thinks about it saying that it is deleting, then...nothing. All the messages are still there.

Problem 2
All the emails for one of my email accounts are in the general 'Messages' folder but have disappeared from the specific folder for that account. Nor are any new messages arriving into that folder, but they are arriving into the general message folder. I have 6 accounts on my device. All the other accounts still have email in the inbox and are working like they should.

It seems that the emails disappeared after I had to reload all the email accounts onto my provider account then changed the default email so that email would be sent from this main email account.

Can someone please help?

1) Try a battery pull and check again. If you delete one of those messages individually, does it delete?

2) Try resending your service books.

Thanks so much for trying to help me.
- deleting individual message doesn't work, they are still there
- Battery pull didn't work though new messages are now coming to that mail box
- can't seem to find service book on the 3HK website. It's a shocker of a site to navigate! I have emailed them to ask where I will find it. Once they reply I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks again

If you can't delete a single message, it sounds like you may have a corrupt messages database. The way to clear that is by doing the following.

Connect your device to you PC.
Launch Desktop Manager
Select Backup/Restore
Select advanced
You will see your device databases in the right column
Highlight Messages
Click the Clear button

This will clear all of your messages. However it will correct your issues.

Yikes. I can't really afford to lose ALL my messages. Is there anything else I can do that might help without losing messages?

Alternatively, is there a way to transfer them back onto my blackberry from outlook once they have been cleared?
