Unhappy Blackberry 8520 curve - please help me!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

Today suddenly my trackpad started freezing when i scroll from up to down
he skips menu lines, if i hit the middle of the trackpad button in the menu it opens the OPTIONS menu instead of opening the software/map.

I wiped the whole blackberry with JL_Cmder v1.9.3 still nothing.. still the same issue, after that i reseted my bb to factory settings and still same problem.

on the main screen the trackpad button works, but when i open the menu with all software in it and hit the trackpad button it opens the OPTIONS menu and when i scroll it skips menu lines.

Can somebody pleaseeee help me??????

is it the trackpad which is dead or is my blackberry dead?

greetings,
Ninolicci

Did you get it wet? Sounds like water damage to me. Even high humidity can cause problems like what you describe.

You can try drying it out by removing the battery and leaving it in a warm, dry place for a day or two. You can also put it in a sealed container with some uncooked white rice. The rice tends to draw out any moisture.

Not a good idea to try and take a Blackberry apart if you have never done it before.

If I were you I would 1) not put in the battery any more until the unit is throughly dried (several days in a bag of white rice) 2) Hope for the best, that the main board is not fried somewhere after you do restart it.

I never got one wet yet, but from what I've read the only hope is to remove the battery as fast as you can, and do not put it back in until it is throughly dry.

Also remember your battery is also wet and may be damaged.

Using a hair dryer or some other device is a bad idea. Too much internal plastic and silicon to warp or crack. Slower and more gentle methods are best. Disassembly is not necessary if you give it a couple days in a warm dry place.

It is not good form to hijack someone else's thread with your issue.

In any event, fatma, do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan or tariff on your account?
