Default Looks like OS 4.5 fixed one of the most annoying 4.3 bugs!

Please Login to Remove!

Did a couple searches and didn't see this discussed...maybe it's old news, but it looks like OS 4.5 has resolved one of the most annoying bugs in previous BB 4.3 OS releases, namely the way audio and video files would disappear from the listings in the BB Media Manager.

I would copy MP3s or videos to my 8GB SD card and then cross my fingers hoping that they would appear in the media manager on the BB when I went to try to play them. Some would, some wouldn't...various work-arounds helped, but it was a pain in the butt...

So far on OS 4.5 I haven't had any issues w/missing MP3s or videos...after the upgrade to 4.5 everything on my card showed up (including those that weren't showing up in OS 4.3) and I just added more MP3s and videos to my 8 GB card and I still can't find anything missing.

Hopefully this will hold up...if it does I'd say the release was worth it just for this one fix.

Anyone else seen this?

Wirelessly posted

I've not noticed this but I have noticed that if I turn the volume up then the BB jumps to the next track rather than turn it up too much. Kinda like a parental control.

aapierre, why playing an Mp3, if you lightly tap the volume control, the volume will increase or decrease.

If you press and hold it, down or up, the track moves the next or previous. Not a bug, a feature!

Thanks for the advice - yet again you come up trumps.

As for the playing of mp3's; I actually don't it was just easy to call them that.
I use Nokia Media Manager to compress my music from mp3 format down to half its size and thus i get currently approx 700 tracks on a 60% full 2gb memory card.

No doubt there is a much better method and if so I'd love to hear it and thus save the time and effort in Nokia compressing before cut and pasting to the media card.

I am still running 4.3 and have not noticed a problem with songs dissappearing and or reappearing. Then again, I do not have very many songs.
Later dude.

Too bad Verizon doesn't have it on their site yet... The 8GB card issue is making me nuts, not to mention text emails...

Yup - didn't happen to me initially either. Tends to happen when you have larger cards/more songs/videos. Just maddening when the problem occurs...just wonderful when it doesn't!
