Rim Outages - How Mad are you.

Two major outages this year from Rim have caused many anxious moments for me and now starting to think there may be a better answer. The question is how upset with Rim and the lack of communication on outages are you?

2 over one year hardly equates to running out and switching devices.
Good things always come with a price...no?
I mean, 2 days out of 365......I am sticking with my BB.
Been with one since the day it was introduced to the US way back when....

I just wish they'd be more forthocming with the news that they're borked. It's not like by keeping it quiet we'll fail to notice the outage. A little up front info for their customers would probably go a long way towards earning back some good will and respect. And they'd have nothing to lose really.

No problem. My guess is that they were focused on fixing the problem as opposed to releasing PR spin.

If I am not mistaken, this only effect AT&T and Sprint and few months ago with T-mobile.
I see in your profile, you have Verizon. So why are you so concern about it?
Electronics sometimes break down or something will go wrong with it. So you have to fix it or replace it. No sense of getting all upset about it.
Do you expect televisions, computers, cars, etc. to last forever for you? Do you expect them not to break down at all?
I don't blame RIM for it at all. I am sure they were trying to solve the problem as quickly as possible.

I think you are mistaken. I am on T-Mobile and was down for a couple of hours on two different occassions yesterday. I actually believe T-Mobile customers may have been the ones hit the hardest.

An outage of e-mail gives me a moment to relax and enjoy the decent weather we've finally gotten around my neck of the woods.

The difference between this outage and the previous one though, is that in this one I eventually got all my mail. Not so for the one earlier this year.
Granted, I had no super-important emails during either outage but even I felt somewhat "disconnected", hehe.

I hate these polls where there is NO CHOICE for "Where's the beer?",
but just my $0.02 worth--my power at home has been out more hours than my BB has been down.

Since I came from Windows Mobile Devices and hosted Exchange services, I'm used to unexplained outages. My BB wasn't down for too long so I'm not upset.

No worries here. As has been indicated in this thread, this sort of thing is few and far between.

It is a bigger deal for some than others. I was in the middle of bringing our company email in in-house to an Exchange server yesterday, as well as setting up BES. One of my primary testing tools was to be my blackberry.net account. Wasted much time trying to figure out why emails were not getting out of the office before I thought to check here for system outages. Sure, you can say it was just bad luck on my part, but I'm sure there were many other people for whom email was CRITICAL yesterday.
