Default Any way to change the "Repeat Notifications" feature?

Please Login to Remove!

- Verizon 6750
- BES 4.0
- Handheld 4.0

In the Profiles section, under each category, there are an In-Holster and Out-of-Holster setting for "Repeat Notification". You can set it to either None or LED Flashing.

I'm trying to set this device up so when I miss a phone call, the device will beep or vibrate, not just flash the LED. The whole usefulness for the device for our team sort of hinges on this ability. Is this possible? It is on Motorola phones, I know that much.

We're waiting on notifier, they said they will try and produce that feature in the next version. Do a search for it to see what I'm talking about.

I guess what i need is it not only to ring or vibrate, but to keep ringing or vibrating in intervals until I check the phone. Thanks for the info though.

I'd say get your carrier provider (nextel, cingular, sprint, verizon, t-mobile, etc) to escalate this to Research In Motion for you. If they escalate it on your behalf, it doesn't cost you money. But if I recall correctly, RIM's stance on this was (I believe) that periodic or constant vibrating or beeping was deemed to be an unneccessary battery life drainer. Meaning they won't do it. Period. But I may be wrong on that.

Since the feature is so important to you and your business, I suggest you escalate it today and get an answer straight from RIM on this. They will be straight with you and let you know if there is a feature they just refuse to support on principle. They have a few and they aren't shy or apologetic about it. So it pays to get the answer straight from them, that way you don't waste any more of your valuable time.

You are trying to make the BB behave like an old-school pager, no?

That's what notifier is trying to include in the next release, a 3 to 5 minute reminder alert. ps... Tell RIM it doesn't have to ring, just a little chirp would do.

I'd be happy for it just to carry on flashing the LED until I read I cancel the alert

You should join me in asking RIM to add this functionality to a future OS. 'bbsuggestions@rim.net'

Will Notifire do what I need it to do? Just a functionality that will keep notifying me of a missed call, a beep, ring, vibrate, what-have-you. The LED flashing just ain't enough.

I was looking forward to the next release cuz he promised the 3 to 5 minute reminder chirp. Looks like RIM will include notifire function in the OS.

Notifire 2.0 (known as Notifire Pro) will not be able to do "forever" notification for missed calls. However I have put that into the "new features" for a future release.

We have been delayed by factors outside of our control. I understand that OS 4.1 will allow custom ringtones on a per contact basis (for incoming calls). Does anybody know whether this applies to email, sms, and pin messages?

There should be a Beta version of Notifire Pro within the next couple of days.
