I want to change both the SRP host port and services connection port from 3101, the reason I need too is so that I can test a new BES that is connecting too our new exchange 2007 box.

When I change the ports to say 3102 its just fails to connect.

I have opened the correct ports and don't have any issues.

You don't need to change the SRP Port to test another BES, both can use that port. Each BES doesn't need it's own port on the firewall.

Have you tried the BBSRPTest utility? It will test your current BES settings. What have you changed on the BES other than the SRP Port?

How can they both use the same port, simply because the firewall can't redirect port 3101 to two different servers.

I believe you are thinking of inbound port forwarding on the firewall. The connection to the SRP is outbound only. Kinda like how you can have 100 workstations on your network browsing www.blackberryforums.com at the same time.

There's no inbound connection to BES.

Because some companies' security policies block all outbound traffic, only making exceptions for certain business-related apps.

Right well I have disabled the firewall rule and its still not working, it stopped the 1st server from working after I turned off the rule. So its not going to work on my network unless I can change the damn port.

Ultimately both BES will be connecting to the same SRP IP address on port 3101 so I don't see why you need to setup another port forward.

RIM's SRP only listen on port 3101 so there's nothing you can do about that.

Can you telnet to srp.na.blackberry.net 3101? If not then your firewall is not configured correctly. If you can't telnet it won't work. Also try the BBSRPTest utility, try setting your SRP port back to 3101 also. If the none of the above tests pass then it's definately a firewall issue.

Well then, for this to work we're going to need details. Firewall make/model, how the rules are set up, etc. Without more info it'll be difficult to provide further assistance.

However, if you have one rule that allows outbound connections to TCP port 3101 on RIM's network from a given IP on your network, you should be able to create a second rule for a second IP....
