Domino server running 6.54 hotfix102
Bes 4.1.3 (Bundle63)
SQL database on Seperate server.
700 Users.

Running the upgrade in the lab all has gone well. My question is regarding a backout procedure, I am having trouble finding a documented one.

From the information I have gathered I can backout the installation providing I have not upgraded the SQL Database, is this correct ?

By re-Installing the previous version of BES I will get the message to "DownGrade", is this correct?

Backups will be preformed before the upgrade and also a copy of the flat file for SQL will be taken.

I just want to be prepared for worst case and test in the lab, so any suggestions or experiences are appreciated.

Just backup 2 main areas of data:-

(1) Domino
===========
- <drive>:\...\Lotus\Domino\BES folder

(2) BES SQL
==========
- BESMgmt.mdf and ldf

(3) BES keys kept handy in text file
=============================
- SRP ID + Auth key
- CAL key

(4) Full installer of BES 4.1.3

- get a copy from RIM (if you have TSupport)

If anything goes wrong, do a clean uninstall of BES (KB04096) and reinstall BES 4.1.3 using the full installer. When you are prompt to create a new database, just creat a blank BESMgmt and follow through the installation until it completes but do not start BES. Replace the "BES" folder and "BESMgmt" mdf + ldf. Finally start BES.
