So, I have seen some of the banter between Guess, NJBlackberry and Mark over on the other venerable forums. It is very easy to see how we are doing on this forum -- Guess posts the relevant information at the bottm of the home page. you can see how many members we have, how many total posts, and the relative posting weight of the top 10 posters. Keeping track of this information gives you a very clear pictures of the explosive growth and diversity of this forum.
But how do we really compare to other forums? Is it possible to get real data about posting frequency and composition of, say, RimRoad? Or Howard Forums?
Anectodally, I can tell that if I go to a forum after being away for an entire day and I see only 20 new posts - it's not generating too much traffic. And if I go back to, say, Blackberry Central after a week and see only 5 new posts, it really is not a live forum. But is there a way to validate all of this?
Mine is this one Never used the others except for HoFo, and them I don't visit much anymore unless it's got to do with my V600. Everything I need for my BB I can find right here.
While I have been spending most of my time on this forum, I do enjoy browsing the others every now and then. I find that by doing so I gain the most knowledge, and am then better able to share it with others. Also, and this has been very helpful, sometimes obscure questions can get faster answers when posted on multiple forums. Just a way to "cross polinate" information, if you will. However, in essence I agree with Goth, this site has been providing me most of the information I need.
