Default I've searched, can't find what I need ( Memory Card Related)

Please Login to Remove!

I bought a new Sandisk 2 GB memory card, and when I insert it into my phone, the screen turns white, goes directly back off, and then the red light comes on. It repeats this until I take the battery out. If i reinsert the old memory card (Sandisk 128MB) it works fine. Ideas? For the record, the chip IS inserted correctly

Thank you!

wow my problem is a bit similar to that regarding the red light, white screen stuff.

i saw an article somewhere before that pearls can only use up to 1 gb, and any card bigger than that would result to an error.

i use a 2gb card but it works fine with me, my sister also uses the same card and she hasn't encountered any errors yet.

That's incorrect. The card size is determined by OS version. The Pearl 8130 from Verizon has OS 4.3 and supports up to 8Gb card. The 8100 Pearl with 4.2.1 OS will support up to 4Gb. The 8100 Pearl with OS 4.2.0 OS will support up to 2Gb.

@ririck, can you reformat the card using FAT32 on your PC? Sounds like there is a problem with the card. Where did you purchase it?

I bought it from a flash memory store online. I already formatted it with regular FAT. I'll try FAT32 and see if that fixes it. If not i'll try getting the 4.2.1 OS.

The re-format didn't work, but switching the OS did Thanks everyone.
