I have downloaded the newest version of the desktop manager and the .exe file for OS. I clicked on the .exe file and let it run it's course, opened the desktop manager, nothing popped up, and i still can't find out how to install it completely or if it is already installed. I also tried going through and deleting the vendor file but still nothing. Can someone please help?

You say you tried deleting the vendor.xml file, or you did?

If you deleted the vendor file while connected to the USB and with DM open, you need to unplug from theh USB, and then reconnect, it won't recognize the OS upgrade until you open Desktop Manager AFTER you have deleted the vendor file.

And you didn't say, but what do you have currently loaded on the BB device, and what OS are upgrading to?

Another common mistake is to delete the vendor.xml file after Desktop Manager installation and before OS installation. Both Desktop Manager AND the OS installations will load the vendor.xml file. Make sure you delete it AFTER both installations. It's either that or you installed the wrong OS for your device.
