Default Is it ‘Normal’ for my 8100 to crash/freeze up at random intervals?

Please Login to Remove!

Had my 8100 for 6 days now and it has ‘frozen’ at random approximately 4 times, no pattern, once using browser, twice changing profiles and once at my inbox screen. In each case the only way I can get it to respond is to remove the battery, no response from key presses! Other than this really impressed with it.

Anyone else had similar experiences? Think I should return it? (Around 10days left to return it)

I have mine now maybe a month, but never had anything like that.
You might want to update your software version to the latest, that solved a lot of problems with mine ...

I have not update my OS yet, Im not sure how do you update via the GPRS connection on the BB or via desktop/sync cable?

I have only installed Opera so far, however I had issues before that.

thanks

Most probs with crashing for me come from using the mute button and unmuting immediatly... Had a few random freezes but rebooting usually fixes

I have had my Pearl for about 4-5 months now. I have had the same experience you have had, but maybe a couple of times over that period of time. And when I did I found it not to be the Pearl, but the application that was running, or something was wrong in the configuration of the program. I am a light user of the device, and I do restart it every couple of days just to keep it running right. By re-start I mean pull the battery and then put it back in and let it boot back up.

No crashes in 4 months. I pull the battery every few weeks just for drill. I've never had it just lock up/freeze.
