Welcome to the forums.
Have you pulled the battery?

With the phone powered ON...pull the battery to perform a hard reboot of the phone. After 30 seconds reinstall the battery and let it boot up.

After the battery pull, your flash should be alright.

Don't know about the 'Close all applications..." error message, though. That may not go away.

So, if you still see the error message, I've got news for you. Get your phone changed.

How old is your Curve..?

Just get your carrier to give you a new one. Yours is faulty.

I had the EXACT same problem. Tried everything the posters here had to offer. Nothing.

Got mine changed, no questions asked.

Now we know why your friend sold it to you... . j/k

Try using JL Commander to wipe the device and install a fresh OS on it.

Make sure you put AT&T software back on it once you wipe it...does the light come back on once you put your battery in or just when you turn on the camera?

When I put battery in even before the phone turns on the flash light comes on... right when the battery makes contact... And I did put the AT&T OS back on the phone....

Dude, I feel for you man...really.

But if you're still stuck and you are not able to change your device, then the only other option left is just to buy a new device.

It's that simple really. If you can't afford one, so just wait till you can.

There is really nothing more anyone here can do to help you, buddy.

Sucks, I know...but hey, cest la vie...
