Formula 1. Nearly won the championship in his first year in it. Leading it currently (his second year). Also the first (I think) black F1 driver. Kinda a "Tiger Woods" of F1...

It's some form of automobile racing that is popular outside of the US. It's like soccer.
It the cars touch each other, parts start flying off and the car is out of the race. They've never been to Bristol.

It's basically car racing that does more than make left hand turns for 4 hours. In the US we have a crappier version called IRL (Indy Racing League). That's where Danica Patrick (who advertises for GoDaddy) races.

It is the PREMIER open wheel car racing league. These are all one off built cars, that can outperform anything here in the US racing league. The IRL is close, but nothing compared to Formula 1 racing.
I love to hear the sounds of an enging revving to 15,000+ RPM

It's also two championships running at the same time - drivers and constructors - as well as there being national interests for both drivers and constructors. It's not many sports where you get a "full international event" so many times a year! The races happen all round the world, even in the US in the past.

Double the rubber, double the brakes, double the horsepower, half the weight, but only 20mph faster.
That would be open fender racing, where them primadonnas are skeered to trade paint at 200mph.
Meaow, saucer of milk for Mr. Hamilton.

Part of his job. Vodafone are the major sponsors of his racing team, and Vodafone have an exclusive for the moment on the Storm...

may only be 20 mph faster, but they get there in about half the time, and actually shift through most of the gears in laps including, but not limited to: 1. start 2. pit and 3. finish.
Cheers I hear Nascar is a lot of fun if you actually go and see it live...

wibbly, sadly most of the US is quite ignorant to F1, though not nearly as oblivious as they are to MotoGP. Though Michael Schumacher and Valentino Rossi enjoyed popularity on this earth an order of magnitude greater than any US motorsports star, and ranked in the top 10 pay earners of all worldwide athletes, most Americans do not recognize their names.

There is no series or racing that even comes close to F1 in the United States, except when F1 comes to the US. 20mph more? You can't be serious? F1 is by far the premier racing circuit in the World.
