Just a note to the unwashed masses, I finally took the plunge and upgraded my 8320 to the OS 4.5.0.69 about a week ago. Unlike 4.2.2.184, this OS release exposes everything to the default Fedora kernels (I've got a F7 and F9 box to work with, no F8) when the berry_charge module loads. Previously I couldn't even hand-force the module and get it working, it was just a non-op feature to charge my BB anymore.
Nothing extra installed anywhere, just the regular bits from Fedora - the BB charges at 500mA correctly, USB Mass Storage mounts without any problems, it all just works. I haven't tried anything like the modem or Barry tools but the endpoints are there for the taking.
