Default Question about videos..

I wonder if it is really necessary to convert a video (avi) into MP4 format? I put a (avi) in the videos folder and works normally.
Why should I convert an AVI to MP4?

Regards

Kinda glad you asked that question because it made me do some research. If the current avi videos you have work, I see no real reason to convert them.

Based on a few google results, it seems that both AVI and MP4 are "container" formats. AVI has been around for years and has limitations. MP4 is newer and "seems" to support more audio and video formats.

I am by no means an expert in this. If anyone else has more information, please speak up.

I think I made a mistake because the movie in avi format does not run right.
The movie plays locking, chocking and I suppose it is due to the size of the movie. Am I right or not?
