Default DR in real time...

Pipe burst in the floor about a data center.
BES is out for the count.
If we restore to NEW hardware from the prior night's backup, do the BlackBerrys have to be reactivated?

If you're restoring last night's configuration database as well... then no, they won't need to be reactivated.

MSDE or SQL? Right now the server (OLD) is running MSDE.

Shouldn't matter.
The only time you'd need to reactivate the handhelds is if they're suddenly using a new database.
Restoring last nights backup (BES and database) will basically be invisible to the handhelds.
The only thing you're going to lose is some statistics.

If your backup is good, then you're in OK shape.

You're welcome.
Good luck with the restore. No matter how simple they can be... there's always that level of unneeded stress that comes along with it.
