Default Spam Arrest 8530 Settings

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone using Spam Arrest been able to set up their email account on their BB 8530 such that the email coming out of the hand-held looks to be from their target email account and not from Spam Arrest?

For example my email address is [email address] To get my email which is filtered through spam arrest, I pick it up at [email address]. At home I have Outlook configured to send email out from [email address] but I receive it at [email address]. The recipient and sender of email to and from me only knows my email address as [email address]. Unfortunately my new BB 8530 insists on showing the [email address] as the FROM info when I send out an email as that is where it picks up my email.

I was able to set up my Curve 8330 to avoid this problem but can't seem to solve it on the 8530. Furthermore I can't get into the 8330 to compare set up information as the service was taken off that unit and the email settings are no longer available.

Any help on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Default Issue solved

I stumbled upon the solution myself. Though there must be a more elegant method for reaching this screen I found I could reach more settings in the email setup if I entered incorrect information in the initial screen. That error pushed me to a screen which offered something along the lines of, "Enter settings myself" Once in this environment, I was able to control the email address that is displayed in correspondence while having the BB look on the correct server, spamarrest.com to download my messages. Unfortunately there is no documentation that I could find which alerts anyone that this more advanced set-up is available.

If you are having similar issues and can't figure out how to get your BB email to respond to this scenario, reply to this thread or send me a note via this forum and I will do my best to help.

Cheers,
Estebingus
