Default Music demo running in background

Please Login to Remove!

Just upgraded from Pearl 8100 to Bold 9700. Love it a lot; big, big difference.

But when I plug in my earbuds to make or take phone calls, the music demo starts automatically until I push the talk button on the earbuds.

Is this music running in the background all the time? Is it using batteries? Seems like it should be an option , but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to stand down. Should I care?

I hate to ask the obvious, but have you gone into the music app and tried to turn off the demo? If you press and hold down the option key (key to the immediate left of the trackpad), is the music app showing in the list of apps running in the background?

Have you tried pulling the battery (while phone is on) or doing a soft reset?

Thanks, Howard. I had already discovered the Media folder's presence in the active applications and closed it with no effect. I just tried a battery pull, but the music persists when the earbud is plugged in unless I toggle the button on the earbud control. I guess what I'm wondering is if this is part of the "great design."

I just plugged mine into the phone with no such problems. Are the earbuds you're using the stock ones that came with the 9700?

It takes a couple of seconds for the music to kick in. I am using the earbuds provided with my new Blackberry 9700 as well as others. I can toggle the music on and off using the button on the earbud cord.

Is it possible that this is a feature to let you know when your mic is active and when is not? I'm hoping this is simply something I don't understand and not a problem.
