Default BB Storm Setting Up Gmail

Please Login to Remove!

Hi-
I was wondering if there was a chart to all the different ways to setup Gmail on a blackberry. Maybe this thread should be in the general bb forum but I am getting a storm on tuesday (its in the mail) and it will be my 1st blackberry. Should I be using the google application? or should I setup the bb to use IMAP access? Does anyone know where I can find a chart that lists the pros and cons of each setup. I am looking for complete syncronization with gmail and push of course.
On a second note I am also looking to sync my BB with my gmail calendar wirelessly. Is this possible? If so I assume I need the google application, however can I use the google application for just calendar sync and not email, if I decide to go with BIS imap?

Thanks to whoever will answer these extensive questions.

When you open the email setup, just select Gmail, enter your username and your password.

I tried setting up my GMAIL account using Email Setup on my BB Storm but it says Update Failed! What should I do?

In the meantime I'm using the gmail app but I'd prefer not to.

Heeeeelp!

I use BIS(BlackBerry Internet Service) to setup my accounts. If you havent set this up, you'll need your PIN and ESN. I havent had any issues with gmail or any of my other accounts. Keep in mind, when using the mail/message app with the BB and BIS, once you setup your BIS, you will see new messages, you will not see existing messages in your inbox.

I got it to work! I did use BIS, I created the user name and pw on my BB then went online on my laptop to add the my gmail account. Now I've got my gmail and work email synced to my BB storm! Yay, thanks for the help!
