i just purchase this yesterday afternoon.so i wanted to put mp3 songs on my phone but i cant. i get this message.USB CHARGING CURRENT IS NOT SUFFICIENT.VERIFY THE YOUR HANDHELD IS CONNECTED TO A POWERED USB CHARGING SOURCE AND THAT THE PROPER USB DRIVER IS INSTALLED.what is the problem??

Did you install the desktop software from blackberry? If not you will get this message everytime! there is a reason they make the desktop software and its not just to backup, restore, add MP3's it installs certain drivers on your computer that you need

Make sure you are not using a USB hub - try to plug it directly into the computers USB port. Had to ask - are you sure you're using the 8100 USB charger and not another BB's charger? They apprear to be interchangeable but are not. I tried to use my 7250's USB charger with my 8100 and got the same error message.

If you already have the Desktop software installed, try uninstall and reintall the Desktop software.

If you have a media card/microSD installed you should still be able to access it. I have 2 puters, 1 with Desktop Software and 1 without. On the one without I can connect via usb and trasnfer files even though I get that msg.

I'm also using the charge for an older BB but still able to access my Pearl as a removable media drive.

Is this also the case for older models connected to Docking Stations?

I have a user with a Blackberry 7730 and the latest firmware connected to a Dell D-Series Docking station and although the Blackberry shows that it is connected to a power supply it doesn't seem to be charging.

I activated it wirelessly and didn't install the desktop manager software initially as I didn't think it would need it just to charge the unit (again the blackberry display showed it was connected to a mains power supply).
Even after installing the desktop manager software it still doesn't seem to be charging. I have set the software to not load on startup or when the device is connected, as I thought this would remove the wireless sync setup.
