Default BB 8800 Application loader update problem

Please Login to Remove!

My BB 8800 application loader version is v4.2.1.115 (Platform 2.3.0.87); I want to update this software to version 4.5.0.55 release 81. I'm still having problem updating the latest software by deleting vendor.xml file. There is nothing wrong on USB cable. After I open the Desktop Manager, I connect the BB 8800 with USB; it shows the BB pin on Desktop Manager. Application loader doesn't pops up automatic. After I click Application loader it shows welcome to the application wizard, retrieves device application selection. It complete the application wizard, box shows "no actions are required". At the end msg shows loading application was successful. Actually it didn't update the latest software on the phone.

I would appreciate for any advice updating the software. Thanks.

Are you using a USB hub? Try a direct USB connection to avoid any power problems.

I've had a similar problem in the past. Do a windows search of the vendor.xml file. Apparently there is another folder it can be in in addition to the usual program files/common files/rim/app loader folder. Just be sure to delete whatever "vendor.xml" file (blackberry related of course) windows search pulls up.
