I just (three hours ago) got a new 9630 in the mail from Asurion to replace one that met an unfortunate end. The first thing I noticed is that some of the keys (mostly on the left side of the phone) were unresponsive or took some fiddling with to work.

The Q and W keys are now totally unresponsive, but still make that *click* sound when pressed (consequently, I have to copy/paste a 1 whenever it's in a phone number I have to dial). At first I kind of had to wiggle my finger around to get either to work, but now... no dice.

The F key barely moves down, but does respond.

The alt key takes a fair bit of pressure; more than any of the other keys.

The "send" key feels permanently depressed and responds when it wants to.

Is there a way to fix this besides taking to the VZW shop (it's under warranty)? I have zero experience with BlackBerry DIY maintenance.

EDIT: Yes, I did the battery pull.

Sounds like you got a moisture or water damaged device, the keyboard is always the first to show the symptons.

Return it.
