Unhappy Blackberry Curve -Heck confusing to me !

Please Login to Remove!

Purchased a second hand Blackberry Curve 8310 off Ebay recently. I am not smartphone savvy in general....Never owned one 'til now... I downloaded the user manual for the Blackberry off the internet. Looks heck confusing, Crikey ! ( : < ...

More frustrating is the lack of any illustrations of the phone. Thus I have no way of knowing what all the buttons are for.. A red light blinks at the top when I install the battery.. I guess that means it needs charging ? ....

Can anyone provide me with the bare basics
( baby steps please ! .. ) of how to use this phone ?
I am keen to learn.... Always wanted a Blackberry... : )

Default Re: Blackberry Curve -Heck confusing to me !

Welcome,

The Blackberry phones are generally "locked" to a specific carrier. The Blinking LED light could mean different things depending on the issue. If the battery is not charged the LED will blink when the phone is powered.
Charge the battery then try. If the screen powers up then the next step will be to see if the phone is able to work on a carrier you select.
The various icons and buttons are detailed in the manuals and I would suggest simply trying to see what they do.

Your carrier shown EE does not list any Blackberry phones and that could be an issue. you need to check with them to insure they support the 8310.

I would also suggest checking the various posts for the 8300 series phones on this site for more info. Also the site has a FAQ ( button on top )section with more info
