Default spell check help

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys

I used to have an 8830 on sprint and whenever I sent messages out it used to check the spelling. I have another 8800 with ATT and it does not do that. I sthe spell check carrier based or blackberry based? I would grealtly appreciate if anyone could point me in the direction where I could get the spell chack on my 8800 on ATT.

Thanks

Unless ATT offers a OS upgrade, you will have to use a thrid party spell checker. One of the best reasons to get the 8820 is this feature!

The spell check is part of the 4.2.2 operating system. The 8820 and 8830 have the 4.2.2 operating system, while the 8800 has the 4.2.1 operating system. Like Greg stated, you will need to get a third-party spell check.

If you are looking for a 3rd party program, I highly recommend LexSpell. Resides ont he BB and works well for me.

Yes your choices are between spell checking that happens from within your device or checking via over the data network. Never had any memroy problems when I had a 8800 so I would go with software like Lexspell and keep it in your device.

I had been using LexSpell, is was working well until the new year then suddenly stopped. Reading on the forums it seemed the free version expired but I really didn't research it that much. Instaspell is what I'm currently using and no problems with the latest version. It also runs on the BB and will show mis-spelled words as you type similar to MS Word.
