Default Groupwise 6.5 Sync

Please Login to Remove!

I am a new BB user. I installed the desktop software and the latest upgrade, but when trying to sync with GW 6.5 it shuts down and gives an error message "Invalid password." There is no password needed to access GW, no password on the handheld, and no passwords enabled in the Intellisync software. Any ideas on how to get past this error?

Are you on a BES or BIS? Your GW is a lot different than mine, it requires a password when logging in remotely.

BIS. GW can be set to require a password but mine is not. I did already try to put one in GW and then use the same one on the desktop software but that did not work either.

I think this person means BlackBerry Enterprise Server, not BlackBerry Internet Service. GroupWise only works with Enterprise servers.

I know BIS does not work with Groupwise as far as desktop redirector sending mail etc., that is a separate problem. This involves sync of calendar and address book via Intellisync in the desktop software suite. Not a wireless sync, a sync via USB connection. It starts the sync process then shuts down because it thinks it got the wrong password but there is no password to give it and when we tried to create one first in GW then in Intellisync it would not take that one either. It seems to want some password no one knows.
