Default How can a web app detect a BlackBerry Storm 5.0 browser?

Please Login to Remove!

Our java app successfully detects all BlackBerry browsers from 4.2 thru 4.7. However, when using a BlackBerry Storm 5.0 browser, nothing seems to differentiate it from a standard/non-mobile browser.

Here's what we're seeing:

BB 4.7 =
BlackBerry9630/4.7.1.40 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105

BB 5.0 =
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)

When testing, the default browser config and the MDS browser config are both set to "BlackBerry Browser" and not "Internet Browser".

Any help is greatly appreciated!

That's strange..

When I check the BES MDS logs after making a request from my 9550 with 5.0, I see the following header:

User-Agent:BlackBerry9550/5.0.0.224 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105>

I agree it's very strange. I'm using the BB 9530 device. I see you have the 9550. Perhaps the two devices behave differently.

I' have a 9530 kicking around somewhere. I'll run the same test and see what the result is.

I check the 9530 response.
