Default Noob Question - adding number to existing contact

Please Login to Remove!

The 8830 is my first blackberry (given to me for free after trading in three broken motoral Qs and a lot of complaining). And this forum has been AMAZING for answering nearly all of my questions and giving me tons of hints and suggestions. So a very serious thanks to everyone who has helped respond to queries thus far.

My questions are:

1. Is there an easier way to add a number to an existing contact rather than having to copy it and open up the contact via the address book before pasting it in? Is there any sort of "update contact" option directly?

2. When I go to compose a new email, how do I pull up my address book and insert an address into a line w/out having to directly open the address book and copy and paste it. Or do people always open up the address book first and then choose the contact's email address and select compose email? I realize there is probably an obvious answer to this but I can't figure it out.

Thanks again in advance!!

Welcome to the forums.

1 - If you're saying you receive a phone call that is not already in your address book (so it shows only as a phone number) and you want to put that phone number into an existing contact, then I believe the copy/paste method is the only way to do it.

2 - You shouldn't have to copy/paste for addressing email. Just do 'Compose Email' (or use the shortcut of 'C' for compose), then scroll to or type in the name of the person you want and click on their name - the address should be put directly into the email (if you have more than 1 email address for someone, you'll be given a choice for which address you wish to use).

Good luck.

Thanks!

I'm still struggling with adding email addresses once I'm already in the email composition app. I can input one address in to "to:" by hitting 'c', then selecting the one I want, but what if I want to select more than one? Once I'm at the email composition screen how do I add emails to the cc or bcc from my address book?

Click the trackball and click 'Add To' or 'Add CC', etc....follow the same steps to add additional addresses as you did to add the first address.
