Hi, everyone!

Yesterday I started having this really annoying problem with my 8100 Pearl that has made the phone useless.

First the trackball could not select. It scrolled just fine but did not select at all. Then menus started popping up out of nowhere and hit the back buttom solved the problem at first but later caused the phone to go to the call log screen. That's when the crap hit the fan because now the phone pops up a menu and calls the highlighted number all by itself.

Yes, I am very disatisfied with BB but hopeful that this could be a simple OS problem that can be solved with a reinstall.

Please let me know what this could be and how I could fix it. I have not found anything similar on other topics. Thanks!

Have you tried removing the battery while the phone is on and waiting at least 30 seconds before putting it back in? That solves most BB problems.

If you are still having problems after that, you can reinstall the software. The link is at the top of this forum http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

However, if the battery pull doesn't work, I might be tempted to wait and see if anyone else has any other answer for you.
