You have an 8900? Did you do a wipe?

I suggest that you redo the wipe and use loader.exe from the c:\program files\Research in Motion\Apploader

This momentarily happened to me and then I repeated the process carefully after the wipe. Are you using DM 4.6 or 4.7 ?

I would use JL AFTER you have backed it up. Then reload the OS.

If you have Vista, there are some issues with DM 4.7 . Seems that 4.7 and XP work very well. Either case, when my device got stuck, I disconnected it just for kicks and giggles then re-connected it. It seemed to pick-up where it left off. Mind you, I used loader.exe and not DM App installer.

Thank you for your reply. I'm just worried about bricking my new phone that I haven't even used yet. I will try to disco it and reconnect it and see what happens.

Mind you, this happened to me as well and I just retraced my steps and did everything VERY slowly. I am pretty sure, we'll get past this.

Rifleman - Thank you for replying so quickly last night.

I pulled the phone off and then wiped it with JL. Turns out I had a bad install of either the DM or the OS on the laptop. So I uninstalled both and reinstalled them and it worked perfectly after that.

CableGuy, you reinstalled the OS on your laptop? Pretty drastic.

I keep reading that some people wipe the OS first, and some don't. Some use JL and some use Crackmem. I've update the OS on my Pearl many times without issue, but haven't done my 8900. Is upgrading the 8900 OS that much different?
