So, I am not touching my 9000's plan for risk of losing that too.
That said, I have never exceeded 100 MB/mo on either phone...

You are not the first person that has been shafted by Rogers.
Remember the "Unlimited Data Plan" with hidden limits and big overage charges?
A friend of mine was told he could switch his iPhone plan to the Bold without penalty as long as he paid full price for the Bold. He did and once they had him hooked they told him his cheap plan had been canceled and replaced with the full priced plan BlackBerry plan!
Another friend upgraded his Ericsson phone but it cost him a lot more than he was promised. Sometimes you can fight these issues, but you shouldn't have to be always watching your butt when dealing with a company.
I have dealt with all three Canadian carriers and I have complaints about Telus and Bell; but I never felt they were out to screw me like I felt with Rogers. When you go into a Rogers store . . . take your lawyer with you!
