Default JDE Won't Start!!??

Please Login to Remove!

(First time poster =) ) I'm having problems starting the Blackberry JDE. I installed the Java 2 SDK (j2sdk-1_4_2_07) and then installed JDE_4.0 from the Blackberry website. Everything seems to install fine, and I can start all the simulator apps (Device, MDS, etc.). The problem is when I start the JDE, I see a Windows shell flash up twice and then nothing happens.

Any ideas?? I have tried the 3.7 and 4.0 JDEs

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
Rick =)

Same thing is happening to me. I installed it in a Windows 2000 notebook and no problem. I installed it in a Windows XP desktop I get the same problem: "I see a Windows shell flash up twice and then nothing happens"

Has anybody know a solution?

Thanks,

The same goes for the full path to java.exe if you want the mds to run during a debug. I recently installed some Oracle stuff and it overwrote and killed much of the stuff needed to run the JDE. I had to re-download and re-install it. I had to edit the paths in both the ide.bat and the load.bat in order to get everything back up and going. I don't remember ever having to do this in the past when I set up the JDE. Am I forgetting it or did something change?
