So before I got the data plan I used to use WIFI to stream videos on youtube.

Now , on the data plan, when I visit m.youtube.com, it prompts me to switch to WAP to precede. If i click OK the video does not load. I have to turn on my WIFI and connect to a WIFI network and the video will stream as normal...

What's up with that?

Could be that your connection is too slow for streaming. WiFi is faster than most cellular radio connections, but some networks like Verizon & Sprint have enough speed with EVDO-rev A. AT&T's 3G is good too, but too many users in the area tend to slow it way down.

Sometimes EDGE is enough to stream, but it depends on how fast your EDGE connection is and on what you're streaming.
