Default 8800 and bbWeather

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone gotten theirs to work? Mine worked fined on my 8700. Whenever I switched to the 8800, I now get this error...

Error. No Weather Profiles specified...

and then it crashes. It does not give me the chance to input any profiles.

Try this.... It's what 8100 users have to do....

3. Now click the Pearl again to get the menu.
4. Select "Options" and add your weather programs.
5. You can now use the menu button whenever you want.

Strange... it still doesn't work for me even after following those directions. It just says Invalid URL Parameter.

Mine works fine too. I got the same error message, but when I clicked the trackball and selected options, then clicked the option button again and added a zipcode and description, when I saved and exited the menu, I immediately got the weather for the zipcode entered.

It's just like when the 8100 came out...
There are literally dozens of threads on using BBWeather and the 8100. It is exactly the same as the 8800 with respect to having to hit the Pearl/roller before pressing other keys.

Wendycharles - in the General BlackBerry Discussion forum there is link to a whole bunch of free software. Also, using the "search" key would definitely tell you where (and how) to download BBWeather.

Actually, it works now! I had to check the option: Disable MDS Proxy and then I started getting the weather -- thanks for the help everyone!

Do you have your APN and TCP settings set in your 8800 for your carrier and have you disabled MDS.

Look in my tips doc for how to connect a modem and try those. If not searching here will reveal them. Sorry but I gotta do some other stuff and can't look right now.
