The GSM side only works at EDGE speeds since it doesn't have the 3G frequencies of AT&T and T-Mobile. As for CDMA, you can only use the device on Verizon as Sprint will not activate a non-Sprint device on their network.

But you need to pick a carrier that has the coverage when and where you need it - where you live, work, travel and play.

If you decide to go with AT&T or T-Mo, see the yellow sticky at the top of the 9500 section on how to set it up for those carriers. the hard part is getting email to work since neither of those carriers offer the 9530 and do not have the proper service books for it. The sticky should help solve that issue, however.

Good luck.

The technology. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology and AT&T and T-mobile use GSM. To get more info, use Google.

Be aware that if you want to use data (email, browser, Google, maps, etc) on that device on TMobile, you will need to manually load the generic Service Books from TMobile.

Have you tried calling TMobile and asking?
