I haven't heard anything about that but it wouldn't suprise me. I recently worked for the american division of a major french company and we went through some preparatory training related to audits and retention times and we covered some of this stuff. We were told quite specifically that once subpoena's are involved they can take whatever they want. Nothing is private in a public corporation.
In fact part of the reason we were working on this was that if you couldn't provide what the subpoena wanted in a reasonable timeframe then they would come and take the servers and find it themselves. Privacy is to protect you from competitors, not from the government.. at least in the US anyway.
