Bold 9900 OS 7.1.0.284

My touch screen seems to be way too sensitive: often I'll just brush it while doing something else, and suddenly I'm in another ap or a place where I don't want to be.

I've tried changing the touchscreen sensitivity from 1000 to 100 and hover time from fast to slow, and reverse, but no joy.

Suggestions?
