Unhappy Blackberry calendar entries not synching

Please Login to Remove!

Our company runs a cople of BES servers ( one in the US one in Europe ) which cater for the companies blackberries ( they all run off the nearest BES )

We have a range of Blackberry devices ( 7230's 7730's 7100's etc , ) and have noticed recently that several from outside the hub location are not synchronising calendar entries made on the BB's back through our Exchange servers (ver 2003) however , going the other way (calendar entries made in outlook do come down to the BB's.

The blackberries in question are using wireless sync for the calendar, and on the handhelds have wireless sync enabled in the calendars option field

I am in Australia , and have noticed it and we have users here and in HK noticing the same thing , Users in the US we have looked at seem to be ok

anyone any thoughts ?

we run

BES 4.0 (Chicago & London)
Exchange 2003 , outlook 2003 clients
devices 7730's and 7100's running Blackberry 4.0 os in HK and Aus

Options (7100's settings => Options) => Service Book =>
Select desktop/blackberry[SYNC] => (wheel)Delete => (wheel)Undelete
Select desktop/blackberry[CICAL] => (wheel)Delete => (wheel)Undelete
wait a few moments (perhaps minutes) for new copies of these service books and then test.

Thumbs up

Have you installed any of the BES service packs, if so which ones??? Also, I have come across similar issues in the past where Conatcts or Calendar items stop synchronising. In these cases I've found that deleting and recreating the userts Outlook profile solved the problem so you might want to consider that.

Thanks for the help guys , unfortunately on both attempts im still unable to wirelessly sync calendar appointments up to the server.

The BES is running 4.0.0.110 ,it doesnt seem to me to have any hotfixes or service packs on it (I'm not the primary administrator )

I was however able to get the calendar to sync bidirectionally when i changed the configuration from wireles to Outlook , so in that regard its working however when i went back to wireless it once again would only work one way.

I also tried recreating the outlook profile and once again this didn't change things either , any other ideas ?

calendar synchronisation issues can also be a sign the BES is using an incorrect version of CDO.dll.
Perhaps send a suggestion to them to look into that.
for Exchange 2003 , outlook 2003 clients it should be 6.5.6980.3 or 6.5.7226.0(sp1).
Service pack would also be a good idea.
