I purchased a bb curve 8520 about 12 months ago now and recently had problems with it. whilst on the phone last night i discovered that that though the keypad was lit up as usual, the screen was black. The screen will not turn on at all but i am still receiving messages indicated by the flashing red lights.. the phone still charges and flashes like normal but the screen is just black.. ive looked on the white tabs to check for water damage with no avail.. any ideas before i take it to a shop??

Have you tried a battery pull? With the device ON, remove the battery for 30-60 seconds, put it back in and let it reboot.

What did you do to the phone just before this happened. Was it in contact with any moisture? Did you drop it? Moisture may not show up initially on the indicators.
