Default TIP: BIS Email Accounts and Display Name (AT&T)

Please Login to Remove!

Well you learn something new every day. Yesterday my BIS email accounts got all wonky and I had to call customer support. When I set them up, I did so right from the phone using the email setup icon. It always annoyed me that the "from" address displayed when I sent mail was the address as opposed to my first and last name.

According to customer support, the preferred method is to organize your BB email accounts by going to BlackBerry Internet Service and setting up an account. By using the site as opposed to doing it OTA, you can input an actual "from" name as opposed to having the address displayed. It's also much easier to organizer your BIS accounts and fix any errors that arise.

You all may know this already, but it was news to me and I'm much happier now that I have it set up and working right. I established a ATT Blackberry email as well while I was on the site. The customer service guy was very helpful as well.

Good tip, thanks. I would recommend you get Stinsonddog's Tips and read through them, for more great stuff, as well as our highly rated FAQs here.
