No tmo in the Holy Land. You'll need your BlackBerry unlocked and use a local carrier SIM or get an International Voice and Data Plan from Tmo.

I used to travel to Israel 2x a month with my Tmo BB. I had an International Voice/Data Plan -- very expensive/minute. But then you will roam on one of the local carriers (Cellcom, I think? Or was it Orange?).

I ended up using SMS a lot instead of calling. It was cheapest way to use the plan and stay in touch.

If you travel there a lot, the above recommendation of unlocking and getting a local Israeli carrier is the best idea.

You call Tmo customer service and tell them you want it. Their eyes will light up with dollar signs and help you out. (I seem to recall US$3.00/minute for voice).

Your Bold is multi-band, so it will operate there. So here's what you do to get voice working.

You'll need to call Tmo and have them activate the roaming function.
Then when you arrive in Israel, search for available networks under Connections and you'll connect to a local carrier.

(For data, I don't know. My BES is company-managed -- so as long as I have a data connection from a local carrier, I'm fine. I just don't know if you need to do something to set your BB up to get your emails.)
