Please Login to Remove!

hi

Whenever i make a https call it asks me the certificate is not supported by the handheld, if i click continue/ dont ask again it continues the aplication. How can i make this certificate trusted when i go to the security option the certificate is not shown.

Does any one know any solution how can i solve this. I dont want the popuo dialog to ask me everytime i make a https connection.

Thanks in advance

If you using handheld-side TLS you can add the hosts to the list of trusted hosts (options/security options/TLS).
If "TLS default" is set to Proxy it is the BES which is establishing the HTTPS connection so you need to add your certificate to the trusted certificate store on the BES.

Or you can get a certificate from a well known CA so the device would recognize it as trusted automatically

For Handheld - side TLS: change "TLS default" (see above) to Handheld. make a call again, you should be asked to add the host to the list of trusted ones. Or try to open the url in the BB browser and see if you get this dialog.

For BES - side TLS: change "TLS default" to Proxy (set by default). open the url in a browser on a desktop machine. save the certificate. Add it to the java certificate store on the BES machine.

Or order a certificate from a well known CA and install it on the machine your are connecting to using HTTPS

But how gmail does it. Do they install the certificate in the Handheld or the Cert is just in the server and whenever any Blackberry install the gmail app it is trusted. How do they work any idea.

Thanks once again

as I said if you get a SSL certificate from a well known CA (Certificate Authority) it is trusted automatically, because the device knows that all certificates from that CA are trusted.
