Default Real Web Browsing

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my Blackberry Curve 8320 today, My last phone was the Google G-1. web pages on the G-1 look great, just like on a computer, and the web pages on the Blackberry like like, well....crap. Is there something I can do to make it look like a real web page or is this the best Blackberry has to offer?

Open Browser>Menu Key>Browser Config>Emulation Mode>MS IE or Netscape. That's the best you can do with the native browser. YOu might try Opera Mini or Bolt for a faster experience....but you're not going to get anything like the G1 or iPhone.

thanks for the help on that. I was really happy with the G-1 till I found out while at the campground I spend the summer at did not have phone signel, but does have wi-fi....You can not make calls thru wi-fi on the G-1 which the salesman told me I could when I got it in December, well after a couple of phone calls to T-mobile they said there was some mis-info out there at first and said they were sorry for it, then told me the Blackberry Curve 8320 will do the job. So they sent me one at No charge (which was really cool of them) So far I like the Blackberry but gotta admit, there are things the G-1 does that I will miss

You might want to look at Opera Mini or Bolt, they are alternate web browsers which render the page with a more "desktop" feel compared to the BB browser.

Wirelessly posted (Curve 8310)

I use Opera Mini. Very easy to set up (just install and run) and loads pages wayyy faster. Also actually loads the page but has an option to check for a mobile version of any page you go to.

Have they fixed that?

Opera Mini always forwarded me to Mobile sites, which is Why I prefer Bolt it always go the real site.

When you load Opera you hit Menu > Settings and unclick the "Mobile View" box. ;)

I was under the impression the "mobile view" just fit the page to the size of the screen to you don't have to scroll left/right only up/down?

Have I been misled?
