I don't know why this is: When I make a call I can adjust the volume using the side key and the icon showing the volume appears. When playing a music file, however, the volume key has no affect on the volume of the music, and there is no audio icon showing. This is a Rogers Canada Bold 9000, OS 5.
I also have an AT&T branded Bold 9000, OS 4.6, and have no problem adjusting the loudness of the music files using the volume key, and there is an volume icon showing in the music players.
Does anybody have an answer as to why I can't alter the volume of the Rogers Blackberry? It can't be a problem with the volume key, as it does work when making a phone call. I've looked in the "help" section, "options" section and can't find any answers.

Did the volume adjustment ever work, and with the volume icon showing in the media player app?

Have you tried a hard reset?
