My wife's previous blackberry took a swim in the toilet accidentally. Got the replacement and have been trying to sync via The Missing Sync for hours. It keeps trying to sync via Bluetooth, but gives me a notice that the first sync must be via USB. I have the 8320 attached via USB. I have disabled Bluetooth on the phone and computer. Reinstalled the BB Missing Sync software.

I searched the forum and found a post that if I hold the Option key down on the Mac and hit Synchronize it will force it to sync via USB. That didn't work for me either.

VERY frustrated. Is there no way in the Missing Sync to tell it I want to sync via USB only?

Solved! Yes, the option key works! But first you need to connect your phone to the Mac through Mac's bluetooth assistant. Once it is successfully connected, THEN fire up Missing Sync on Mac and BB and hold down the Option key on the Mac and hit Sync in Missing Sync on Mac.

I find Desktop Manager for the mac to be adequate. You won't have any bluetooth issues as its NOT an option.

Just turn blue tooth off in Systems Preferences on your computer and also on my blackberry. The fix you have seems like pain.
