One of my users has picked a really odd problem. Whenever somebody sends him an e-mail, it shows up on his Blackberry with the name of one of his Contacts in the to field. The messages appear correctly in Outlook, and when he forwards or replies to an e-mail his name appears. It's only when viewed on the Blackberry that the to field replaced his name with this lady in his address book. Has anybody seen this before?

Sounds interesting. I had a similar issue once, but mine was with the phonebook. It was associating names and numbers improperly or something of the sort. Have you or the user tried a reset at all--maybe try pulling the battery? If its a Nextel device, try a Master Reset. Hope this helps.

Are all emails arriving with the incorrect name? Or is it just emails from a specific person?

If it is emails from a specific person, have a look at the address book on the handheld, to see if the 2 contacts have the same email address listed. You will find this happens if you have 2 contacts with the same phone number listed (ie company phone number) and a call comes in from that phone number, it'll pick the first match out of the addressbook.

cd.

All e-mails are showing up this way. When you reply you can see the girl's name in the To field, but when the mail arrives his name has magically been restored. Just more weird crap for me to deal with. I don't even want to talk about the user who just called me because she can't enter her password to unlock the device. I watched her enter her password several times today when I was showing her the ropes, but now that she's at home "0" key is triggering the Alt key. Since her password has a "0" in it, the device is now a paperweight.
