I have had to reactivate my existing handhelds to my BES (GroupWise)with a new database (due to the handhelds not accepting the IT policy which I understand is a security measure). I need to retain/restore the users' profile settings (desktop, ringtone, etc.). From other posts I've read here, the wireless synch back these up. But in my case, with the new BES database, those settings aren't there. One post here mentioned restoring the settigs through Blackberry Desktop before doing the Enterprise Activation.

Can someone tell me exactly what to do in what order? I'm not sure which of the backup databases pertain to these settings (though I made some guesses in my testing that didn't work but maybe that was b/c I did Enterprise Activation first).

You have to wipe the BlackBerry, restore the Profiles db, then do an enterprise activation.
