Default BlackBerry maps killed?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a VZW 8130. When I got the phone it had the BB maps app and it worked for what it was. I was playing around with updating/installing over it via the blackberry web site. It said it installed rebooted the phone and now the icon is gone.

Any ideas on how to get it back?

check under options > advanced > applications and see if it is listed there. if it is try to do a battery pull and see if the icon comes back

I just tried. It did not come back. When I goto the options its running BB maps ver 2.0.21 The version I can find for a OTA install is version 1.2 or something like that.

Any ideas? I would like to get it back. I used it sometimes but also to learn more on how the BB works and get more out of my device!

So any other things to get it back?

Here is the website I tried to load the program from.

Is the version from the BB site going to be the most up to date? and does running a verizon phone make a difference? I just want to make sure before I do something I can not come back from.

Quick edit how would I uninstall the current version?

It seems to have worked. Its back due to my location speeds are not what I would choose to have for using the map features. It is a way newer version then what I had its got GPS!!! If it works out I will have GPS! but due to VZW I might not have it... oh well we will see tomorrow. I will let you know if it worked to fix it all.

Thanks!
