Hmm, not sure if I mentioned this already or not (too much alcohol this past week during my internet posting time), but I know it's been a fairly hot topic for 2+ years on these forums. Well, public folder / shared contacts synchronization/access will be included in BES 5.0, slated for a May 2008 release. Just thought I'd share that with you guys.

This is GREAT NEWS!!! Do you have any details? Specifically, if I have a Public Folder with Contacts, can they be merged into the Address Book? Will there be any way, on the BlackBerry, to determine if an address is from your Contacts or the Public Folder?

Just as an FYI, and in keeping with the theme of the thread, it is possible to sync a Public Folder (with Addresses) as well as Contacts to a BlackBerry's Address Book - just not wirelessly.

No details, unfortunately. This was mentioned at one of the sessions during post-session Q&A, so it was not a prepared presentation high point given by RIM directly (just the project managers of the BES 5.0 release answering a user's questions).

there is a tool availabe to access contacts in public folder - it was shown at the WES. search google for mob:contact - it's available in english and german...
