Exclamation BBM: Uncaught Exception: Wrong Presence Status +++

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so I've read a few blogs on here and a few on Crackberry.com, and I've actually seen other people that have had this problem! Now here is my problem...

I first noticed this error message, "Uncaught Exception: Wrong Presence Status," about 3 weeks ago after I tried adding a friend to my contacts list. Rather than toss my Crackberry out the nearest window as I was so inclined to do, I took a more "reasonable" approach.

I deleted BBM and attempted to reinstall using v4.1 software. I quickly found out that's not the proper way to conduct business. So, I did my homework and found out I have to go to this OS site, select my carrier, type of phone, download this package for my OS (File Name 8310M_PBr4.2.2_rel312_PL2.5.0.30_A4.2.2.170_AT&T), desktop manager, application loader, install, and BBM is back in action, right? Wrong. I'm still getting the exact same error message as before. My BBM icon is restored to its original place (prior to my first deletion), yet the same problem exists. I even went as far as to redo this entire process...still nothing.

Anyone have any ideas? Perhaps I'm missing something...this has definitely been known to happen!

I think that your device software has become corrupted. You may need to reinstall the latest device software on to your device.

Hi GTM,

The same error came up for one of my users yesterday. i performed a quick search and the BTSC says the BBM has become corrupted. It will have to be removed and re-installed again.
The thing is, even if you remove the BBM, it's application module still exists on the device, and so even if you re-install it again..it will give you the same exact error message.

The link above asks to make sure the module is deleted as well, i am stuck at this point as i do not get the option to delete the module. i've searched and searched and not reached anywhere yet..
if we somehow manage to delete the module, we can consider the issue resovled.

Maybe someone here can help !.

Thanks,
