Please Login to Remove!

i installed the latest version of google map (i think) and it is not performing as well as i expected. is damn slow. doesnt matter. i was wondering, when i am using google map, is it consuming on my bb data plan or otherwise charges? btw i residing in Singapore

2nd questions is how do i go about to check which apps are still running behind what i am doing?
got wat i mean? coz i do not wan them to drag my battery life.

thanks

1. Yes, you use data. You need to download maps, they gotta come from somewhere...

2. Hold down the back key next to the call button... Also, hit menu and select "switch application"

Note that if you have an application set to run in the backround when closed, that application may not show in the ribbon if it is closed and running in the background. You need to know that applications you have that have that capability and how you have them set, and make sure you exit the programs if you do not want them in the background.

EDIT: I thought I had an example of this, but I just checked and the app still is in the ribbon even when closed. So, I think I was mistaken.

I mean same thing that dankarlinski is talking about. When you select menu > switch application, a band, or ribbon, will appear on the screen and you can scroll left or right among the applications. That is what I am calling the ribbon.

Note my edit above. I thought I had an application that would run in the background and not show in that ribbon when switching applications. I now believe I was mistaken, and all running applications will show in the ribbon.

The fundamental blackberry apps like phone, messaging, etc are always running. You cannot truly close them.
